As a Berkshires Wedding Photographer, it was an honor to capture Kristen and Brian’s Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort wedding!
Jiminy Peak is a Mountain Lodge, Resort, and Wedding Venue tucked away in the mountains of the Northern Berkshires. It’s a hot spot for local & destination couples alike. Making it the perfect location for any couple looking to plan a wedding with a view of the Berkshires! Here, at an elevation of over 2,000 feet, Kristen and Brian said I do!!
Jiminy Peak is an idyllic, picturesque resort. During the winter months, the views from the lodge are that of a winter wonderland. The mountains are covered with crisp white snow as the chair lift ushers skiers up the mountain for their epic descent. If you are planning on a winter wedding at Jiminy Peak, please note that the venue is not operational for weddings from November to March. However, in the spring and summer months, the views at Jiminy Peak are just as spectacular! With towering lush pine trees and the sun shining down between the clouds of the mountain vistas. And because ski season is over, you’ll feel like you have the entire resort to yourselves on your wedding day.

We began Kristen and Brian’s wedding day by capturing them getting ready in their “best day ever” attire. After Kristen buttoned up her gown and Brian slipped on his suit jacket, we headed to their ceremony. Kristen and Brian held their ceremony at the summit of Jiminy Peak! A wedding at the summit is exactly what it sounds like. Saying I do at the very top of the mountain. Jiminy Peak offers several locations on its grounds for your wedding ceremony. But the summit offers the most picturesque 360-degree views of the area. Which also makes it an optimal spot for your wedding photos too! Hosting your vows at the summit of Jiminy Peak is ideal for couples with a larger-sized guest list because the summit can accommodate up to 200 guests.
Having your wedding ceremony at this location also comes with another added perk! Your guests will ride to the top of the mountain via the resort’s “Berkshire Express Chair Lift” where the panoramic views of the resort will enchant them! Kristen and Brian’s guests had a blast riding the chair lift during their wedding and we captured every candid moment. Guests of all ages hopped on the chair lift in their formal attire to make the ‘trek’ for Kristen and Brian’s vows. If you’re worried about the issue of accessibility for any of your guests riding the chair lift to the summit for your ceremony, the venue offers the option of streaming your ceremony. That way, guests can view each and every moment from down below before they head off to your reception. Alternatively, if you’d like to skip the chair lift, you can choose to hold your ceremony at the “Brookside” or “Base” locations as well as indoors in the “Crane East & Crane West” lodges.

After they said I do, Kristen and Brian rode the chair lift back down the mountain, but this time, as husband and wife! Once their vows were sealed, we worked with them to capture their wedding day portraits. We took advantage of the gorgeous sunlight and walked the grounds of the resort to explore a few different scenic backdrops for their photos.
Knowing that Kristen and Brian are a fun-loving couple, our approach to their portraits was to bring out their personalities in a way that was authentic to them. We were able to do this in a way that was fun and honored who they are as a couple. Our approach to capturing our couple’s wedding day is always to bring to life those candid moments. Because those unposed, moments in between, are where the magic of your love story really unfolds! After their portrait session, we were off to the reception!
Kristen and Brian delighted their guests with a Star Wars-themed wedding reception in the Crane Lodge of Jiminy Peak. The Crane Lodge is best known for its rustic-inspired elegance, including a cozy stone fireplace. The Crane Lodge also makes a wonderful option for your wedding reception because it provides central access to the rest of the resort. Thus allowing your guests to roam about the rest of the resort easily. Kristen and Brian’s grand entrance into their wedding reception had a special twist. When Kristen and Brian were announced, they made their way into the Crane Lodge through a “saber arch”. Literally! The bridesmaids and groomsmen held up colorful lightsabers for the bride & groom to walk under.

Kristen and Brian’s head table was set up directly in front of the stone fireplace during their reception. But, of course, they added in their own decor to tie into their Star Wars-themed wedding day! Once everyone was seated, the bridal party gave some amazingly funny but heartfelt speeches. And the bride and groom loved every minute of it! The remainder of their reception was full of love and celebration. There were traditional dances with the parents and the bride and groom spent the night on the dance floor with their friends and family by their side! But, by far, one of the most unique aspects of their reception had to be their Star Wars themed cake! The all-white cake was topped with fresh florals, and accented by fondant medallions representing the Rebellion & the Empire!
Thinking about hosting your wedding at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort as Kristen and Brian did? While the resort offers several locations on its premise for your ceremony or reception, it also makes an ideal choice of venue if you have guests coming in from out of town. Your guests can book their stay directly with the resort. This also gives them the option of turning their trip to your wedding into an adventurous stay. By booking a reservation at the lodge and enjoying the days leading up to, and after your wedding, they can enjoy all that Jiminy Peak has to offer including its adventure park, hiking trails, and more!
